We all know that getting our Facebook business pages in front of our target audience(s) can be a difficult task. Additionally, over the past few years, Facebook has required many of us to pay to get the same reach that we used to achieve organically.
Today, I’m going to introduce you “Preferred Page Audience”, a setting often missed when Facebook Business Pages are configured. A setting that may help boost that highly sought-after organic reach.
About The Preferred Page Audience Setting
Note: Not everyone is able to see the Preferred Page Audience Setting in their Facebook Business Page settings. It appears that Facebook has been rolling this feature out slowly over the past few months.
If you’ve used Facebook Ads, you know how powerful audience targeting can be. With a few simple clicks, you can target an advertisement to the exact group(s) of people you want to reach. By doing this, we limit annoying people with irrelevant ads, maximize spend efficiency and get a better idea about whether our businesses are interesting to target demographics. The Preferred Page Audience Setting allows us to tell Facebook the audience we want our pages to reach.
Where To Find Preferred Page Audience Setting
1. Under the primary toolbar located directly below Facebook messages and notifications, click on the “Settings” link.
3. Now, you should see a message letting you know whether or not you’ve set a preferred page audience. Click the “Set Preferred Page Audience” link.
How To Configure Your Preferred Page Audience
Note: For the purposes of this example, let’s assume we’re a local Minneapolis residential HVAC company looking to target real estate investors. Here’s a possible configuration of the “Preferred Page Audience” setting.
Keep in mind that once you configure these settings, your business page will be highly targeted to the audience you create. Also, you may change these settings later.
Hope this helps.
